As above my tax disc fell out of the holder & down the dash whilst cleaning the windscreen... doh! Is it gone forever or is there any easy solution to get it out? Cheers.
-
Hahahaha
No I'd say not without taking the dash out.. not a quick or easy job!
-
Fold up a piece of a4 paper in half (make it a5)... and then slide the 'V' in from the center of the car and move it to the left. That how I got mine out :happy2:
-
I'd pay for a new disc before taking the dash out lol
Will try the paper method & see how I get on cheers.

Roll on October when they are exterminated!

Yes!

I paid about £18 for the fast GTI disc holder about a week before they announced getting rid of it :congrats:
-
Haha, oh dear! Reminds me of the bloke I saw at work once who had lost his, very nice new, very thin Motorola (few years ago) down the vents in his van!
-
Well paper trick didn't work :( but on the bright side it's only £7 for a replacement.
-
Lol, same thing happened to me, took me about 20 minutes to get out with abit of card and paper, u need to try to wedge it between the card and paper and slowly pick it up
-
Try a vacuum cleaner.
-
If this happened to me I would try using a thin but bendable bit of cardboard, put a strip of detailing tape with it's sticky side facing outwards on one edge. Push the 'sticky' edge into the gap and hopefully the disc will stick to the exposed sticky surface allowing its retrieval.
-
I would just leave it, if anyone checks the car for having no tax disc, surely it'll say that you have the car taxed?
Or do you get fined if you dont display it?

Highway code states that your tax disc must be visible in the left lower part of windscreen.

No chance with a vacuum the space is just too tight, think I may gave pushed it further down trying the paper trick ffs! Tried post it notes with no joy too. Tbh it's worth £7 to stop me getting pulled by the 5-O although I could argue that it is visible in the VERY bottom left corner :p

i did the same to mine, but u have to keep trying, i push it down that i could barely see the edge of the tax disc from the outside, but my patience paid off

And a fixed penalty notice for not displaying it or not displaying it correctly.
£7 for a replacement one
