Title: Removing/smoothing and refitting GTi side skirts
Post by: Simon_2.0t on April 01, 2014, 04:10:59 pm
Hi guys, I'm looking into getting my sideskirts colour coded red, currently are the standard black plastic GTi ones.

Has anyone removed theirs before, or know of a guide I could use?

I have a bodyshop lined up to smooth and paint them for me.

Would I need them to fit some 3M adhesive tape to the top edges for me so when I refit stick to body work. Or use tiger seal? I know they are held on with screws at ends and underneath. Or do VW sell the tape/sealer?

Much appreciated Si

Cheers mate.

Looks like have double sided tape on them to hold.

To remove my current ones I suppose need to cut/clean this off when removing.

Might see what the bodyshop suggest for refitting.
