Title: Coolant level warning
Post by: Human Joist on April 01, 2014, 06:38:52 pm
Afternoon guys. I keep getting this message displayed. I am presuming it's the water level warning. The level is fine. Is it the electronic switch in the expansion tank that is failing and is it just a case if replacing this part or is it a common fault and a repair available

I had this on an Audi a3 2.0 tdi just replace the whole tank with sensor included. Wasn't expensive and was easy to do.

As above

Common fault, mine was doing this and the garage "had to" replace the whole header tank... I just let them get on with it and it is now fine..

New coolant header tank and you'll hear the bloody annoying buzzer again.

You might get away with just cleaning the two metal probes in the tank with wet and dry paper but for the sake of £20 I'd just replace the tank.
