Title: more help req'd
Post by: monklife on April 07, 2014, 05:33:10 pm
Just stripping the car for paint, and was wondering how the exterior lower front door window scrappers are removed from the 3dr golf gti?

Any ideas Folks?

Cheers

You can remove them by hand - but proper trim removal tools help.

was hoping to use my hands.....  :congrats:

do the door cards need removing? or can they be removed without stripping anything from the doors?

The outer one can be removed on its own.  If they've never been off before, they'll be stubborn little barstewards.  If you havn't got trim tools, get a few old credit cars and an empty corn flakes box.

The inner one is part of the door card.  Is it an exterior paint job, or a full shell jobby?
