Apart from needing a new rear offside wheel bearing, I was driving around local country roads tonight and noticed a nasty grinding kind of noise (only hear with window down) offside front wheel makes this noise when driving between 20-40 mph only when I turn left! Almost sounds like a stone stuck in the disc but only when I turn....
Anyone got advise please.... Much appreciated thanks tom.

Could be a cv joint gone, any grease on the wishbone etc?
-
That sounds expensive.... Not looked closely, will tomorrow... Replaced cv boot on near side last year.... Grease everywhere lol

If it's knocking it could be already to late for the cv joint, in the past I've had ones knocking so I put a new boot on and packed it with grease and it was fine. I'd go with that way first and try that, that's if it even is the cv joint.

Ok than you for that, I'll get the suicide jack out tomoz n investigate further.

Or could be wheel bearing

As a quick test without needing any tools, try putting your foot at the base of the wheel and sharply pulling the top towards you, if the bearing is knackered you'll noticed some movement and knocking.
Also try applying the brakes a little while you can hear the noise, when it is safe to do so, just to eliminate them as a source.
