Morning dash to the train and I didn't lock my car..... Will it lock automatically after say 5 minutes?
-
Dont think so. Mine only locks itself if i unlock it and dont open the doors
-
Same, I think they lock if you unlock but don't get in but certainly not after you've driven it.
How long does it realistically take to press one button on the key fob while leaving the car anyway
-
Wheres you car parked?

Any need to be a clever ****?? The lad is obv stressing because he has forgotten to lock his car
To the OP I thought the car automatically locked after a certain period of time, you can change it through vagcom I'm sure, so fingers crossed it locks for you!!!

Yeah same. Slightly annoying when it happens though.

Somewhere else now! :signLOL:

Don't think so.
As above if you unlock the car but don't open the door for a set period (30 seconds?) then it re-locks
For reference if you open your boot using the boot button (when the car is locked) don't leave the keys in the boot as it re locks itself automatically and straight away
*I wasn't popular when the missus had to bring my spare keys 50miles up the road at Harry's bed time

It defo doesn't lock itself, when I'm washing mine I unlock it get in park it where it needs to be get out without locking it wash car come back and it's still unlocked I'm afraid mate.

Unless standard behavior has been changed, it definitely won't lock itself if the door has been opened. As other posters have suggested if you unlock and don't open a door it'll lock itself.
If it's any help, I don't think you'll have much to worry about. It's rare people will try a door on a car these days, mainly because even if the door is open, there's little they can actually do without a key. If they wanted in, they'd be in by other means without even checking the door I'd guess.
I'm sure it'll be fine when you get back and if it makes sure you don't make the mistake twice, it's worked out well ;)

I wasn't being a clever any sort of expletive actually!
As it happens, I had read the post hastily and thought he was looking to save time by not needing to lock the car manually.

Sorry I disagree.
there is a lot to do and take if the door has been left open or car just left altogether....
