think revo is £499 but not 100 %... and yea they offer the dyno aswell with this .just got an email of them as im going to get mine booked in a.s.a.p

Leave your panel filter as is or get a CAI. There's a few peeps that have gone with uprated panel filters such as the Pipercross or ITG and it's shown an increase in BHP with before/after Dynos so ETTO.
Before going to R-Tech, check your PCV, chuck a new Cam Follower on (depending on when yours was last changed) and, just in. Case you don't, run your car on 99Ron from now on.
They will give your car a health check before they map it anywho.

yea mate cars always run on 99...dont think cam follower has ever been changed ..best get this looked into then as never heard about it..nice one

As Betty posted, order one from Alex's shop and yes it can be bought from the VW main dealer or TPS. Treat the Cam Follower, along the DV, as a serviceable item and change it once a year, especially the CF on a mapped car.
-
thanks guys would never of known to do this..much appreciated :happy2: .....ill do this just before i send it in to get mapped
-
are the cam followers better from akstuning then from main dealer ? just that if they are ill order from there tomorrow..thanks again lads

Once a year is a bit excessive for the cam follower IMHO. I just replaced mine for the first time (no receipts for it being done by previous owner) at 70k and it was barely worn.
I'd suggest replacing every 3 years in normal use on a tuned car. Only the yanks seem to have to change them all the time with the poor oil & fuel they run over there

Lol pretty much everyone changes them every 10-20k
For the sake of a £30 part, i'd happily change it every 10k.
each to their own I suppose :stupid:
-
just found out that gnj performance is only 10mins from where i live and they do the shark map also and will replace the cam follower , revision g d.v and panel filter..happy days

They are really good quality, similar to an ITG Maxogen but £100 cheaper ;)

What nonsense! Neither the DV nor the CF are 'serviceable items' - and there is categorically NO need to replace either every year!
My GTI is remaped - done nearly 80k miles - and is still on its original DV and CF!

I presume you've at least checked the cam follower??
I will only change DV when it's fooked

I check the CF every other service. I initally checked the CF every 6 months (took photos) and the DV every year - the diaphragm never has any splits - and to be honest, my butt dyno will tell me if it tears. :booty:
The cam follower has not shown any difference in wear for say the last 65k miles (sods law when I next check it - it'll be fooked! :ashamed:). I've got a copy of the TSB, and I noticed over the first 15k from new, the dark grey coating gradually got 'polished' off (just like what happens on all cam lobes) - but there has never been any wear whatsoever.
This BS about replacing the CF came about via our ill-informed previous leader :stupid: - in the same way he tried to peddle catch cans with the same level of viggor as suppling weed to school kids a few yards away from the school gates! :fighting2:
Old saying - "if it aint broke - dont fix it".
-
im changing the d.v for piece of mind and for the latest version.....also the cam follower has prob never been changed so for sake of £30 might aswell get it done...to be safe
-
I spoke to Ben yesterday regarding remap, must say they seem like good guys with a genuine interest and passion.
I asked about the DV and PCV and he told me they keep Rev G DV and PCV's in stock so if they are buggered they will change it there and then. Only charge £45.00 for each fitted. I think thats a good deal and you're better off just letting them do it.
-
I changed my DV to a rev G, replaced my cam follower and PVC valve. not a must but i did for peace of mind :) also fitted a FMIC And hard piping but that's more for stage 1.5 / 2 I guess
