Anyone know how to fit a armrest to a mk5 golf ?

Did mine a week or so ago. Stay patient is the only advise I can give you  :evilgrin:. The annoying part is knowing which part to put in before the other, bit of a puzzle but simple enough.

Plus the rear air vent is a *ucker to do other than that all as above!

don't know what you lot are talking about. its very simple.
remove the standard upholder/handbrake cover 2 screws.

remove the cupholder on the armrest - 2 screws
pop the air vent cover off
remove the armrest casing - 2 screws

move the armrest over , line up the handbrake to the sliding cover on the armrest

one lined up attach the armrest to the floor - 2 screws

and do the above in reverse

There's no mention of getting that rear vent pipe in!

Isn't it just. If it wasn't for that, it would take half the time I'm sure!

This previous link tells all really, although I had to loosen the handbrake nuts when I did mine, to get the centre consul out to fit the euro-cup holder at same time.

thats fitting a euro cupholder, you don't need to take out the centre console to fit an armrest  :happy2:

as above.

but if u want the rear air vents to work in the arm rest you will need to take out the centre console, as the ducting goes under it passing the gear stick
