So no prior issues, leaving work this afternoon car wouldn't start, engine turning but no ignition, left for 2-3 minutes then started no problem.
Then tonight whilst driving engine lost power momentarily, EPC and check engine light flash, happened again a few seconds later this time the ESP and tyre pressure light come on and stay on, only way I could get them to go off was by restarting the engine. The power loss was very sudden, like fuel cut that I used to experience in my old Celica GT4. Other than that, running fine, no reduction in power etc. Seems to happen randomly as well, regardless of throttle position.
Haven't got VCDS yet, cable ordered just awaiting delivery, but Torque on my Android isn't showing any errors logged.
Car is an 07 GTi, manual.
Had a coil pack replaced in August and it's a very different feel to that, no sign of em engine missing or hesitating.
Anyone got any ideas?
Cheers
Phil

Sounds like your throttle body has failed. ~£400 to have a new one fitted

Sounds like throttle body
Try and stay off boost, will help prevent it happening.

I managed to drive gently from Nottingham to Gti international without limp kicking in then as I pulled out of the junction at the raceway it went again
Alex from AKS fixed it at the show, hungover. The legend lol

Fixed it? Easy replacement?

Bit of a pig but it became common for older throttle bodies to pack in so Alex is well practiced!

Spoken to my local garage - said they'd put it on their VCDS to confirm if I dropped it down.. Only now it won't start at all!!! :fighting: :fighting:

Oh dear :sad1:

Tyre pressure light doesn't normally come on with Throttle body issue so I would think its something else.
Alex sorting out a Throttle body with shades on  is worthy of living legend status :notworthy:

Definitely dead ECU... Anyone know what the options are?
Obviously brand new replacement is one, but a few people have mentioned getting them repaired? Is this viable?
Cheers

How much to get it fixed :happy2:

£310... Better than £768 as quoted by VW for a new ECU!
