Noticed this earlier in the week. Set off from home, reached a junction and waited. Whilst waiting I noticed the idle speed was around 1250rpm. Normally it's around 800rpm within a few seconds of ignition. This is now a persistent issue. Not noticed any change in power but the car feels rougher when turning off the ignition - it almost feels like I've stalled the car.
Will run VCDS this weekend and gonna go see Alex next week but would be good to prepared.
Any thoughts?

PCV valve on the front of the cam cover can cause this.

yes, had this and fitted pcv, ok now

I would just like to clarify that there is no such thing as a PVC valve, stupid autocorrect.

It's alarming that my phone has PVC in its memory bank

hah!
I had the same issue and was the pcv valve

Ran vcds and got the following:
001287 - Idle Control System RPM
P0507-001-Higher than Expected.
-
Pcv replacement sorted this out on my cupra... if after replacing the pcv the issue remains check charcoal cannister.

Yup replacing the PCV solved the problem. After replacing, on first ignition, it seemed to hesitate but was fine on second and subsequent attempts.

good stuff... problem was haunting me for ages.. annoying to be honest. Mine occurred when I installed an Intake... bizarrely
