Title: remaped gti
Post by: spliff1star on October 12, 2009, 10:53:36 pm
What will my 210bhp gti mk5 be like performance wise compared to the 265bhp audi s3? What's a rough 0-60 time? Mines straight out the factory no mods but tested 210bhp

Well you are limited by FWD so depends. From rolling there wont be much in it, if anything. From stand still you will be around 0.5 of a second off it depending on weather, how many people are in the car, fuel, tyre pressure etc etc etc

Expect a 0-60 of about 6 secs depending on DSG, Manual, weather etc

0-60 in a fwd car is not a good indiation of a mapped GTI's pace.

Don't mean to upset dsg owners of the 200bhp model but at santa pod I did come across two dsg mk5 gtis 200bhp and my manual was quicker ed30 dsgs seem allot quicker but I'm not starting a debate on dsg v manual! Jus my own experience. As long as mine aint that far off that's fine with me

dsg software can be remapped, maybe they dont know how to launch their dsg properly.

You can get a more aggressive map which allows higher launch and higher revs.

You should be lookint at 30-70 though over 0-60. Couldnt give you a figure but i would expect you to stay with an S3, just hope he hasnt remapped or its bye bye gti

No matter how fast you shift a manual.. you can't shift faster than a DSG... its just a fact  :happy2:

That's why I never wanted to mention the experience with my manual and dsg! It wernt so much how fast the dsg shifted!
It was that my car seemed to just have more power than his besides his had 100k miles 80k more and was two years older and looked like it gets rallyed a lot!

I'm not sayin dsg aint good but I'm a manual person myself! I jus want a map that launches the car quicker and keeps the power at the end of 6000rpm and stays strong

I think everyone does but this is not an ideal world, where you gain in one spot you will lose in another
