Brake warning light came up on dash so did the usual pad checks all ok inside and out but noticed the brake fluid a little low, can I just top the brake fluid up or does the brake lines have to be flushed before refilling? Any recommendations on brake fluid as it's Sunday and probably only halfrauds open?

If the level is above minimum level mark then I would wait till tomorrow and get some genuine vw stuff and top up.
IMO you should also get the entire system looked at to exclude a leak.

I would presume that when the pads were fitted the brake fluid would be above minimum. But as the pads wear the fluid level does drop so I wouldn't be too worried about it. If the pedal still feels firm then there is no leak and no worries. Id wait till tomorrow and get the proper vw brake fluid.

Thanks
Turns out the brake fluid and pads are fine its the brake pad sensor connector, the back has snapped off "car end" of connector and therefore it's shorting the connection. :happy2:
