Well the time has come for me to change the Golf, I did contemplate the new MK7 GTI but with a couple of extras was £30k, Whilst driving round the dealerships we came across Nissan, and saw the new Qashqai. So to cut a long story short, numerous Test drives and weeks of deciding, I went for the new Nissan Qashqai. I will no doubt come back to a GTI in the future but for now the Qashqai is the right choice. There is a 3 month waiting list, so i will be looking to sell my MK5 in June, so nearer the time i will post it on the forum priced with the mods and as standard, selling all mods separately. Anyone interested please browse my posts to see how i have cared for the car. If anyone would like anymore info and pictures please PM me and i will send info to you.

I hope its better than the Juke. Had the Juke for 6 weeks as a hire car an it was absolutely terrible.

My mrs has a juke ( petrol ) and apart from really needing a 6 gear think its great , what dont you like about it ?

Had the petrol originally, but got it swapped for a diesel as it was pants on fuel which combined with the smallest fuel tank in the automotive industry really wound me up, the diesel was obviously very good on fuel but still only manage 370 miles to a tank. The diesel kept having issues with the engine revs surging at tickover. I found the suspension really bouncy particularly on long motorway journeys where the car felt like it was rocking back and forth like a boat! Thought the engines were rubbish, the lights were terrible. Then theres the boot which is much smaller than a Fiesta's. Lastly it was beyond ugly lol
Liked the gadgets though
other than i loved it lol

My Brothers wife has a Cashcow (Thats the car and not my brother ) and she loves it :happy2:
-
I like the latest gen. Thought previous gen was a bit of a pig though. As with most cars, the top of the range ones look stunning, but low range look a bit pants.

Its a Cashcow Tekna X-tronic according to my brother, not seen it personally yet but they have had it for a month now and and she seems well happy with it, my brother is currently driving her Audi A3 Convertible as she struggled to get my nephew in an out the back of it

Thanks for the replies guys, we went for the Top of the range Tekna model, only extras we are going to add would be some chrome bits of trim, which from what i understand are put on at the dealership not at the factory, at a ridiculous price mind you. So i have managed to source some genuine ones a lot cheaper to do myself! I think i can manage self adhesive strips!

Which engine did you go for? the 1.2T I found was underpowered for the car, the diesel is the better option out of the 2. I only managed 33mpg out of it, had 43mpg on the display when I got in it though. I had the tekna for the weekend last month, thought it was a decent car. And yes, the chrome parts aren't factory fit options.

I went for the 1.2 petrol as i just don't do the mileage, and issues with the DPF if you don't do the mileage. i was set for a diesel as i just could not imagine a 1.2 engine to be powerful enough but after a test drive i was really surprised, plus doing the figures it would have taken me 4 years to get back the money on fuel for the extra price of the diesel model. No brainer really.

We have a few of these on fleet. the 1.2 T is great. 100x better than the old 1.6! glad you got the tekna, worth it for all the extras :)
-
i know for the difference in price for the extras you get, totally worth it in my opinion

The new Polo is as big (or bigger) than many previous Golfs. I think the time is coming sometime soon when Golf owners are going to be downsizing to a Polo, or stop eating all the pies maybe. Might be joining the Polo club myself sometime in the future (even though I've never joined the Golf club).
