Title: My New Car to Replace ED30
Post by: garrardrj on April 13, 2014, 12:43:51 pm
http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201404083173628/sort/default/usedcars/postcode/ip51de/make/volkswagen/page/1/radius/50/onesearchad/used%2Cnearlynew%2Cnew/price-to/27500/price-from/22500/model/golf/advert-type/standard-listing?logcode=ucnnp

So what do you think ?

What sort of price do you think would make the sale ?

Thinking £24500 ?

£25k i would say is my top budget , a MK7 R would be too much

MK6 R's are too much money for what they are and i won't be using the extra power or the 4WD

The MK7 is a LOVELY LOVELY car and the tech is very very impressive, the cabin isn't as nice as the MK5/MK6 in some respects. But I'd love the new R, I just love the way 4WD puts the power down in all weather conditions.

You can get a low mileage RS3 for only a few k more!!  It'll certainly hold its money better

The RS3 looks dated as does the RS4 B7 which i would also like but i won't use the power or 4WD of the R , RS3 or the RS4 .

I am thinking that i could keep the MK7 GTI for 2 years and still get back £20k plus , especially as i won't do more than 6k in that time , so the car will be 3 years old with 13k , don't you think thats good value ? Also will have 2 yrs Manufacturers Warranty for any issues too . MK7 looks alot more modern than a 6 which looks like a 5 , which i just got rid of .

Just needing to justify myself spending 25k when i do less than 3k a year !

Looks lovely, ignore all this 'buy an R' lark - that'll be great fun.

I doubt you'd get 20k back for it considering it will be out of vw warranty
