So the suns out and I've got some time off work so I thought I might whip the wheels off today and paint the calipers (likely red) whats the best way to go about this?
I'd rather keep them on the car and although I've got some red spray I think it'll be easier and safer to use hand paint, I see halfords sell a tin of "caliper paint" is this any good? I've also heard of people using hammerite, although I'm not sure if that would be effected by the heat?
I'm open to suggestions, I've got to buy some paint yet but I can go into town in a bit and get that. I'm pretty happy with what prep work is required, a thorough clean, wire brushing and maybe a hoover to get out the last of any dust.

I just bought some tinned hammerite and a few small paint brushes. Few months later and they still look great. Just be sure to mask of bits you don't want to get paint on other parts if you haven't got a steady hand like me lol.
When they were 1st done

This was taken a few months after.

Ive just ordered some foliatec paint... supposedly very good.
-
I just wire brushed mine down and painted them with hammer rite paint
-
Thanks guys. That foliatec stuff does look good but it is £30 + p&p I might just give hammerite a go and see how that is.

Same here. A few small brushes and a tin of red Hammerite. Job done!

Just done mine a few weeks ago (calipers replaced non red & original red carriers). I bought the Halfords high temperature engine enamel paint (red). I cleaned the with a wire brush then MEK then painted the calipers. It's a bit brighter than the old carriers but good enough and it took 2 coats, no streaks or brush stokes.
