Will my car go into 'Limp mode'? I've just fitted a downpipe and sports cat (200cell) to my standard mk5 golf GTi and the management light's popped up. It goes and sounds a bit better and I'm happy, but I have a 300mile trip to Cornwall planned in 4 weeks from now and can't risk this happening...

Short answer is no! You need a map that disables the post cat lambda sensor signal to extinguish that light.
-
so the cat is the culprit then?
-
Definately the engine mangement light?
The emissions light is sometimes confused with the engine management light....

I've just looked in the owners manual and its not the management (EPC) light after all, It's exhaust fault light so looks like it's the Lambda sensor like you said, thank's fellas
