Title: Creeky cracky knocky dash trims, radio trims etc
Post by: J12spk on April 21, 2014, 09:07:16 am
As title! Nothing bloody worse than the sound of the creaking cracking plastic noise! Any tips guys? Obviously once you remove factory trim and then re install it will never be the same but I had to upgrade my stereo somehow! I've tightened up all dash screws I can find including the ones on the ends (fuse area and opposite) I getting to the point where a short sharp whack on the dash fixes it for a few miles until it cones back to annoy me even more!
Any tips/avice on how to sort this would be amazing!

James

:signLOL: was guna put some felt tape over every single piece of plastics that touches another piece of plastic! Failing that I will rip the whole fecking dash out and just have a wheel and gearstick!

My front interior light unit at the top rattles like there's no tomorrow. A tesco clubcard wedged in there stopped it for a while but it's begging for a hammer now.

I've got one at the minute which you think is inside the car, yet Blue Tack on the external wing mirror cover between the door and the mirror, cures it!

So get someone else to drive and you trace the rattles, even if you have to do what Andy suggested, bit by bit.

Finally, if the above fails get married and those types of noises disappear and another noise appears, best described as a nagging rather than raterling with the occasional phrase from your left as "Are you listening to me"! :happy2:
