Hi.
My drivers door seems to have developed an annoying intermittent fault which has become annoying.
On occasions it won't unlock , today for example it took about 10-15 attempts on the fob for it to unlock, passenger door unlocks fine.
Once it's unlocked it lock and unlocks fine but it's the first time you try it that seems to be the problem.
Can anyone suggest what the problem may be ?

The door locking mechanism is dodgy, I got mine replaced. Part number for the latch is below :happy2:

Thanks man, how much did you pay for this including the fitting?

Around £150/200... Looking back that seems steep.. It was at a VAG Independent specialist mind

Wow that does seem expensive , thanks for the info

Excellent how to guide, replace the door locking mechanism soon as mate before it completely fails on you.

I had one replaced on my old GTI under warranty. The tech said it would be around £230 if out of warranty. Obviously an ini would be mucho cheaper :happy2:
