Post by: Melvin084 on April 25, 2014, 09:48:48 pm
I know there are topics about this already but most of the links on where I can buy them from are no longer active so here I am asking for help once again.

Where can I get a pair from? are these okay

You may have to change the bulbs though if you want amber. Not to sure on that

can anyone suggest a h7 hid kit to pair up with these? preferably a slim ballast kit which won't cause errors...

Hi. Apologies if this is obvious but presume that the only difference between the above and those on the link are that these are Hella brand?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/150858435287?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_sacat%3D0%26_from%3DR40%26_nkw%3D150858435287%26_rdc%3D1

Seen a few links to these on the forum but that you just have to request RHD. Worth the £60-£70 difference?

I've got a H7 ap racing 5k kit of eBay that I've run for a year and not had a problem with them. Think it was ruffly £45 aswell so pretty good value for money

The ones on the original link are depo which do quite a bit of vw oem stuff. Seems silly paying extra for something that's almost the same as the cheaper one

Be careful those are likely to be for left hand drive cars.

Black inners  :happy2:

Just ordered these but didn't check to see if they are rhd and if they have self levelling motors  :sad1:
Title: Re: Projector headlights
Post by: motogp46 on April 28, 2014, 08:34:40 pm
Hi. It says levelling motors included so from my searches of this site, just a question of removing bumper and popping on. Simples! Or in my case take to The Phirm, get Revo Stage 1, check DV and ask nicely to remove bumper and put them on!

There different to most though as they have all black inners. Shouldn't of got so excited and asked more questions before I ordered haha

I've got a set of depo projectors with black innards. I modified them to accept H7 HIDs and large SMD sidelight bulbs. they came with motors fitted however they are manual adjustment, not automatic.

I also have no bulb warning lights with the parts I've used.

Are they all black though? As in the only chrome part is the two chrome rings?

I've never seen a set before. I know wooosh has a genuine set on his car which he modified himself

That's the only chrome part, they look genuine but half the price.

Ah decent mate, same as these

Just heard back from the seller and they don't come with the motors.

Could I use the ones of my current lights does anybody know?

you should be able to swap them over from your current OEM headlights, that's what I did on me old MK4 with FK's.
you will need a HID kit, eventually, as the projector "screen" seems to cut out half the light.

Post by: MJ on April 29, 2014, 05:57:28 pm
The motors that came fitted to mine are different to the standard headlight ones.

Yep mate already got all that sorted. I'll have to wait till they come and see if I can do it
