Title: Battery drain

Hi all just got my first vw, a mk5 golf gt tdi 140, feels pretty solid. I just upgraded the stereo to a rcd310 - tried to start it on Sunday and completely flat. So I've read a bit about the dreaded battery drain, just a quick question - can I just buy a new version can gateway or will I have to have the car reprogrammed as well? Also does anyone know where to buy one - seen some on ebay not sure how good - all seem to be from china.

do you know what cambus model you have in the car.
or what car model and year do you have.
