Title: Xenons??
Post by: Orc on May 02, 2014, 11:23:21 pm
When fitting xenons I've had a little look into this being a tech and searched the forum but confused a little about these kufatec looms? Basically I've got a edition without xenons I've just brought the misus a mk5 diesel with xenons and I want the xenons on my edition. Now why can't I just swap the lamps over with the wirring and then program via vagcom?? Do vw use the kufatec loom as oe? Or are these looms just a cheaper option for people to be able to run the xenon as a upgrade?

Kufatec adapters are just plug & play for cars without factory fitted xenons.

So I could remove the loom from the oe and fit it then?

No, you leave the diesel wiring alone, take out xenons, buy Kufatec loom and use in the edition  :happy2:

The kufatec loom is just a 10-12 pin adapter

You can take the xenons out of the TDI and fit them to the ED30 and just use Kufatec Adaptors no problem.

However the TDI won't have any lights as the normal lights won't fit and there are no adaptors available to go from Xenon to Halogen. So you would have to modify wiring and buy some plugs.

I removed some xenons from a car that had them from the factory and fitted normal headlights and it was a big job
