Title: Painted rear bumper
Post by: lycanthrope on May 06, 2014, 09:29:39 am
Currently have a black textured rear bumper..  But want to colour code it to match the car...

Do people paint this black textured bumper... Or should I look at one of the replica £140 bumpers on eBay that just need paint?

Cheers

You can smooth it down and use high build primer before painting

Try PPCGB. I got mine from there (R32 style with no exhaust exit) for about £120 delivered.  IMHO it looks far superior to a standard bumper painted.

Most bodywork specialists will know how to prep the bumper ready for paint mate, otherwise there's a high chance it will flake.

Yes, got mine done at a local coachworks company. They did the rear and the front (except the black middle section) for £150. When I phoned to see if it was ready, he said that they had some paint left over so he also sprayed my key fob  Fortunately, he was just joking (it turned out when I went to pick it up!) it's bread and butter to them, and just takes an overnight for the paint to dry.
