I'm flat tire. Have had my '07 MKV GLI since January '08. As far as I know this model was not sold in the UK. It is really a 4-door GTI with more weight in the rear, and very slightly better coefficient of drag due to the tapered rear. The motor is a BPY. I have done all mechanical work + maintenance on the car myself, except tire mounting and suspension geometry setup.
Current setup:
69K miles
Bridgestone RE-11 225/45/18
Escort Passport 9500i Radar Detector w/ GPS
BC346XT trunking radio scanner
APR software
3" test pipe
3" intake
BSH mounts / BFI pendulum insert
S3 front control arm bushings
PSS10 coilovers 5f/5r damping and generous ride height
Snow Stage 2 WMI w/ 2.5 US Gallon reservoir
BSH TBP
N2MB WOTbox
Seibon hood
3lb Shorai LiFePO4 battery
No interior
I usually drive the car hard. Typically run APR's 100 octane program in combination with the water alcohol injection. Joining this forum because I like learning about these cars and offering advice where needed.

The mk5 shape GLI was a jetta with a GTI front and Monza's. Mk6 shape GLI is a normal jetta like we have over here.

Welcome! Surely a golf looks tiny on the roads in the great state of Texas?
