For anyone trawling ebay for an Ed30
This is not one: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-GOLF-EDITION-30-GTi-2007-ONLY-55000-MILES-SERVICE-HISTORY-3-DOOR-TAX-MOT-/271481670387?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item3f35918af3
A few tell tale signs however a number plate check has confirmed its a non Ed30.
Feekin shocking and he has a lot of interest too
-
Maybe he was told by the previous owner it was an ED30 ?

what do you mean pass it on? Pass the car on? or pass on that its an ED30?
If someone told him it was and he didnt know that much about the car, then I am not surprised that he believed it because it does look like an ED30!

I would think the majority of people buying an Ed30 would know the car or at least be able to identify the lack of darkened rear clusters , non standard wheels, mudguards (potentially) and the all important 230 on the V5.
If you wasn't an enthusiast or particularly interested in an Ed30 then why would you pay a premium over a standard Gti ?
To me he seems to know a little about the car even listing it as a 230. But to own and not realise then that's asking a little too much :popcornsoda: IMO off course :happy2: I wouldn't like to call him dishonest but would you really make this sort of mistake ?

To some people, the ED30 is just a golf with different wheels. They won't know anything about the engine being k04 rather than k03 etc
You don't have to be an enthusiast to buy a certain car lol.

How many ED30's are there registered in the UK?? Are you telling me every single owner is an enthusiast and a member on here?
I very much doubt it lol :P :P
I can see where you are coming from, but if a random person searches for "golf gti" on ebay and that comes up they'll think "oooh thats nice, has different wheels, i like that"

Looking at the sellers feedback he has sold a few cars so maybe he is a roadside trader of some description.
He may have been unlucky :scared: but then as a trader part time or not he should still know the difference.

Lol there is a roadside "trader" who lives near to me and I don't even think he could point to a steering wheel, yet he still managed to sell quite a few cars

Haha true I guess, well either way someone either the trader or the new owner will be disappointed.

Regards to Edition 30 looks, it's not far off the main giveaways are standard GTI rear lights, non factory BBS CH's & why would you debadge an Edition 30? :stupid:
-
You can only hope that due to the target market of the Eddy any potential buyer will pick up on such things before handing over their hard earned.
As said though the standard lights and CH alloys are a dead give-away but not necessarily easy to spot on the web.
-
not for sale anymore , wander if he sold it
-
It's been relisted as a Gti.
-
Maybe someone texted the guy on ebay who was going to look at it, and informed him it wasn't an Ed 30. :happy2:
-
he has knocked 1300 quid off the price
-
Fair play to the guy, seems like a genuine error
-
A happy ending after all :happy2:
