So I've had the golf for 3 months now, and have sorted most of the problems. My last one, and most annoying is a loud whistling noise that only appears under mid/hard acceleration between 3/4k revs??
there is no loss of power anywhere on the rev range, just a loud high pitch whistle. I don't get it on gentle acceleration or anywhere else on the rev range?
I'm running a k&n typhoon and have checked it for any cracks or loose connections but nothing??
anyone had anything similar? Or any advice?
cheers

I'd check the DV first, it's easy to access.
Same whistling like this (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1GCci5l9JM)?

Believe it's a tail-tail whistle of a K03 turbo, it's noticeable once a intake is added. The standard intake / engine cover was manufactured to mask the sound I read somewhere :happy2:
I have a k03 GTI and has the same symptoms... Have to learn to love it

It does sound like the video however i replaced the dv straight away.
i guess it could be a faulty dv, I'll try another. If not then i guess I'll just learn to live with it.

Probably normal with that intake.

I had more of a screech than a whistle...that was my turbo.
Post a video up lets have a listen.
