Hey guys, I am looking at overhauling my suspension over time. I am looking at getting H&R 28mm/24mm ARBs, with coilovers (undecided yet, probably Ohlins or Bilstein) and full polybush all round.
I am wondering whether and anti-lift kit would be a bit over kill too?
-
Every one gets the anti lift kit mate :happy2:

Anti lift kit is a must.....

I'm just about to fit a set of PowerFlex Black polybushes to my rear arms instead of a WALK. The bushes are quite a bit harder than the bushes in a WALK kit so should tighten things up even more, hoping it will give an even better steering feel. It's another alternative to a WALK and cheaper too.

Ive just bought those bars with walk and changing my kw to bilstein along with a quaife and the rest of the revo mounts.. Should be able to let you know what i think very shortly

What KW's did you have mate? Why the change to Bilsteins?

Oh cool, let me know how it goes! I have had a look at Powerflex, but their site doesn't list having bushes for the 28/24 ARBs. Which is annoying. Unless I am being stupid.

Cool man, I'm still not fully up on it all and I am still learning. What're the REVO mounts? Again, let me know how it feels :)

I thought as much  This all gets very expensive, very quickly. Haha

You wont needvthe powerflex arb mounts with the h&r bars mate.. And the revo mounts are transmission engine etc there are 3 i already had one but just got the other two mate just tightens things up

Oh okay cool.
Are you able to provide any links to the REVO stuff? Would like to check it out :)

My old ED30 was running
WALK
F/R VWR ARBs
Bilstein B12
VWR engine mount (lower)
And it handled like a diff car to my stock GTI I have now and also owned back to back with the eddy. IMO that's the ideal susp set up

Is this (http://www.awesomegti.com/car/vw/golfmk5/vwr-subframe-mount) the engine mount that you had?
Thanks all for you help and advice :happy2:

Anti lift kit is a must. For the fact they offer a lifetime guarantee (and they're better than the Whiteline alternative) I'd go for Superpro, get the front wishbone bushes done too at the same time along with a full 4 wheel geometry set up.
H&R ARBS FTW and H&R Monotube Coilovers would be another option to consider IMO. Ohlins are the dogs bollox but for their price you can get everything done that you want on your list.
You'll defiently benefit from at least the lower engine mount and Dogbone bush. If you can, do the side mounts too. Vibra Technics get my vote on the engine mounts. Not cheap but what is and if your planning on Ohlins then they're probably within budget.

Been looking into this. The mount is the entire thing, not just an insert right? And if so, what would be the advantages over buying just an insert?

Yeap. Pic below of the Vibra-Technics lower engine mount and also their dog bone bush...

When I got my uprated clutch put in about 2 months ago I also had front anti roll bar bushes done as well as THS engine, gearbox and lower mounts put in, that coupled with a SMF conversion the car sounded like a tank but wheel hop was nearly eliminated. My bilstein B12 kit with H&R -50mm springs, rear roll bar set on mid and the anti lift kit are now fitted and can't fault any of it ! Handles like a dream and virtually no wheel hop even when flooring it in slightly damp conditions.... Just hope that stays the same way with an extra 90-100 bhp when the k04 goes on ! :)

Excellent, thanks. Helped clear things up in my head. I am learning as I go along, all very new to me :(

This all sounds perfect! Well done you for having it all! In time, I hope to have a similar setup.
