Hi Chaps,
I'm currently running Revo stage 2+ at boost 9 timing 6 and fuelling 9.
As some of you may know I recently went to RS Tuning in Leeds and managed a decent result. One of the comments Paul at RS made was that if I dropped back the boost a little it may make more power as a result.
Anyone have any comments or experience of this?
I'm interested as it always seemed like more boost would/should give more power, but apparently max boost can inhibit ultimate power near the top end.
All help welcome from guru's in the know :notworthy:

It all depends on how the vehicle is loaded up and how you want your power delivery;
on boost 9 the car will be at it's strongest but if the car is on a dyno that's loading the car very heavily and it's quite a long pull the car will start to pull back at the top due to heat.....
on the road in real world conditions the car will make the most power at boost9

Thanks Carl - informative post. I have often wondered the same myself. I am just wondering what sort of effect on EGT's this has - am assuming that REVO have tried and tested Boost 9 settings and found to be with safe OEM tolerances etc..
....My understanding from Carl in previous chats is that all the Revo settings are safe. It's more a matter of how they are set in the context of the whole package of mods an individual car is running.
For example, if I was to upgrade to a high-flow tubular air intake on my car running Revo Stage2 and Milltek TBE and NOT having an aftermarket HPFP, I would be advised to reduce my Boost setting.

When I went to RS tuning he said the same to me too, also he told me that there was compressor surge.. In fact he was hearing the N75 regulating boost..
If you go to B8 then you will make less power for sure on S2+
As Carl said, tuning a car on a dyno is never going to produce the same results, you need to adjust the settings to work best when the car is driving on the road
Now go and get that big turbo installed! :wink:
