morning all, looking to change my Ramair filter for a K&N tapered one. what's people views on K&N air filters and have you had one fitted?
is a oiled filter really that bad for our engines/turbo's?
I know the typhoon intake for 2.0 TFSI isn't great but maybe its due to the build quality of the pipe work and MAF housing and not the filter itself?
i need one with a 89mm inside diametre neck to fit my hoses, looks like demon tweeks is the place to buy them.

I have always used K+N panel filters, One of the first things I do is fit one and never had any problems. Why is an oil impregnated filter bad for turbo cars m8 ... Never heard that before ?

Belive hes talking about a cone filter on an intake?
If so the k&n will be fine also a oiled foam filter will be fine unless u put excessive oil on it.. It could mess up your maf

I thought just after I replied that the only thing oil mist could upset would be the MAF... rule of thumb not to much oil when cleaned :happy2:

yeah a cone filter for my DIY intake, they come with a cleaning kit which includes a filter oil spray type substance.
seen somewhere on here about should use oil cleaners on filters due to it messing up the MAF (not turbo thats my fault)
