Manual or dsg?
When you sat a lot of oil how much oil to how many miles?
When you sat using more fuel than usual, how many miles are you getting to a tank?
Have you replaced your pcv?
-
Thanks for reply im constantly topping up every other week and I guess 300 miles to half a litre approx and fuel im getting 100ish miles to half a tank cars being used for school runs and work all around town havent changed pcv but done the dipstick test and instantly ran rough

That's very high oil usage :surprised:
It could be one of many things. It's probably best you get it to a specialist and get them to check for fault codes and take it from there. Where are you based?
-
Based in cambridge when I bought the car I had the intention of getting the engine rebuilt or replaced as the rest of the car is mint just thought id have a bit of time to save

It's a long list but a blown head gasket can cause all sorts of trouble, including oil leak and loss of cylinder compression, which in turn can be responsible for jerky driving.
You could also check the coolant level and look out for any funny smoke coming out of your exhaust or even the engine compartment. Are you getting misfires?

Hi chris no smoke on start up or under load and hasnt used a drop of water in two months another thing ive noticed is even though the temp gauge doesnt move from 90 when warm the engine and bay are getting quite hot
