Title: broken airbox issue?
Post by: D8MOA on May 17, 2014, 07:22:24 pm
my ed30 has been mapped with a pipercross filter and makes 303bhp....

now I was getting some issues with the airbox kept pulling off its mounts due to dodgy rubber and broken pegs! I have replaced all the pegs and rubber, poped the bonnet today and it didn't look right, turns out its now cracked all the underside of the airbox!!

any ideas why? I can only assume its got to much suck and it breaking it  :signLOL:

Do you have a pendulum dog bone mount insert installed?
This insert  eliminates some of the engine sloppiness that can cause air box issues like you are having.

Not bring sarcastic but perhaps the last person to remove it, possibly a garage damaged it whilst removing it and just stuck it back on or poorly repaired it and prayed you wouldn't notice?

I was also told they needed handling with care as mine was broken when I got the car and that was serviced exclusively by Peter Cooper up to that point in time.
