Are these the same ? What will I need to fit them on my edition 30 ? Cheers
-
calipers are the same, the rs3 370mm discs dont fit but the ttrs discs 370mm do! (check part numbers before buying) they bolt straight on
If you dont want the 370mm discs you can buy brackets from alex at akstuning to run 345mm s3 or r32 discs
-
To The best I'm aware the Part numbers for the TTrs discs :- 8J0615301F
Estimate 190 each + VAT :happy2: Oh aye each !
But have been lead to believe the R32/S3 discs, with brackets made to fit, would be the better way to go, unless it's for show...
:driver:
For most wheels a 10mm spacer will be required

How would you find out if your wheels fit with out a spacer behind you fit it all haha
-
Fit the wheels, that will be the real test
:signLOL:
Just have a search, see if you can find what other people have tried, that may rule some wheels of your list...
What wheels do you have in mind?

TTRS/RS3 caliper on a 345mm R32 disc using DaveB adaptors. Running a 12mm spacer to clear.

That looks proper :happy2:
how do you find the brakes?
have you changed the master cylinder ?
what rear set up have you got brakes/spacers ?
and how much are the adaptors to fit r32 discs?
do you have any pictures of your car so I can see how far the wheel sticks out ?
sorry for all the questions but I have the calipers and discs and not sure to fit them or not

@Danoy I recently spoke to Shorty about this, the fitting kit from Alex is £250 :happy2:

As Tommy said, adaptors are £250 with brake likes or £200 without.
The brakes are awesome, running Carbone Lorraine RC5+ pads and it stops very very well, on a standard master cylinder too.
I run 310mm R32/S3 rears. No pics of my car, just fitted some adjustable top mounts so running quite a bit of camber and tucking the tyre easy.

To put the rs3 calipers on the mk5 gti, you don't need to change the master cylinder? The factory fitted master cylinder will do the job?
