Title: making my standard seats heated?

anyone done this? i have standard gti seats

as far as i know i need

seat heating pads
dash control bits
maybe a wiring loom? althouggh i suspect that the loom is already there.

I tried to price this with VW and the heated element is part of the seat cover and came out at around the £600 mark. Not sure about the loom etc!  :happy2:

well..im thinking that they were, but now your saying you priced it up, maybe not.

then i think...hmm..you have recaros now, so that might be the reason you priced it up? lol

You'd also have to check you have the correct loom installed under the seat.

I know where it is but what it looks like???

Push your seat back as far as it will go and there is a plastic cover which can be unclipped and it should reveal the connections that the plug for the seat would fit into.

wouldnt it be there tho? i mean wouldnt vw put it in all cars? as they run the loom for the seat anyway....

It may be but I am aware of a change on 2007/2008 cars so the plug may not match. This happened to the member who had my ED30 seats. Plug was there but wouldn't fit!  :sad1:

iv been told you can buy the loom from vw for about £45 so you can plug the seats in i could prob get you the part number if you like

i may take u up on that actually but 1st i need some ed30 seats haha oh and £600  :signLOL:

I wouldn't think the wiring loom would be there - VAG don't make a habit of it.

you can buy it as 1 of my mates got it for his car ill get the part code just incase some does want it

im guna wait for someone to sell their car with retro fitted ed30 seats and swap them for my standard gti seats.
