I'm emigrating at the end of July so i have some time yet, i looked into sea freight but it only seems worth it if you are shipping an entire household - quotes I've seen range from £1500 - £3500

I'll only have some general belongings i wish to take, the rest will be sold or donated. I was thinking of just normal parcel shipping which looks like £150 per package of around 20kg's

Wouldn't it be cheaper and easier to simply load your stuff into a suitcase and take it with you on the plane? Pay the extra for over baggage, hand the case over as your luggage, and just collect it at the other end.

I'm emigrating to Pennsylvania, near Pittsburgh where my fiancee lives

It is yes, but some items i can't fit in a suitcase e.g. my ten pin bowling equipment (6 balls, i play in leagues n sh*t, weird hobbie for the UK i know :)), i'm a bit of a nerd also so i want to ship my PC case as it's a limited edition no.1 etc. I can't really fit these items into suitcases although i can take the bowling equipment as sporting goods probably
