My friend has a 56plate Edition 30 with 80k and has:
- APR fuel pump
- 3" decat down pipe
- Pipercross Panel filter
It only made 305bhp with a stage 2+ map and is being told that the low power output is down to coking of the valves and no catback. Im shocked at this. I really thought that it would have made more power than that.
My Edition 30 (only 30k) made 351bhp at stage 2+ and I had a full system, panel filter and fuel pump.
Any thoughts or opinions on what it could be, or whether his advice is correct?
I appreciate any help.
Cheers.

didn't think you can go stage 2+ without the full exhaust system
-
I thought the same, also should probably have a full induction kit, not just a filter.
-
56plate edition 30??
-
The usual culprit is a boost leak somewhere so check dv and all hoses and connectors.

56plate edition 30??
There are plenty of them...such as mine

Yeap, that's when they started.
Catback will add nothing but a bit of noise. Check the DV and pipes as mentioned.
:happy2:

Down pipe, HPFP & intake are the minimum prerequisites as far as I can remember.

Planning an intercooler?
-
Nothing to do with no cat back I'm stage 1+ on standard system, Fuel pump and evoms and made 330 od bhp and 350lb of torque he should get an intake though
-
It wont be the lack of induction kit, my car flowed 350bhp with pipercross panel filter. Would the mapper of not picked up on the boost loss/leak? I will get him to check any ways, try to eliminate the problem.

I standard corrected :notworthy: I thought the edition30 was 2007-2008 only.

As Mike said above the down pipe & sports cat or Decat is all that's required. The cat back section gives you about 2bhp

That many? :signLOL:

If there is no boost leak, have you considered that the Dyno might be out or needs re-calibrating. You could always hop on another Dyno and see if the results are the same.
What tuner did you go with? are they a VAG specialist?

How does it drive?

How does it drive?
That is the most important thing!!!!!
Could have been sh1tty rollers?
-
Well...
1. No intake
2. No intercooler
Fix the above and you will stand a better chance at making decent figures
