The rear driver side door wouldn't lock with the remote or manually.
I wiggled the wires that are inside the rubber hose between the door and centre pillar and it seemed to work.
However, the door doesn't open from inside. I sprayed WD-40 on the latch to see if it helped but nothing.
Any ideas? Hope this is something I can fix myself, can't be having another expensive repair!

Have you checked the pull wire on the side of the door?
Probably got some damaged wires or faulty control module on the door.. getting to be a fairly common thing.

This is worth a read

Have you checked the pull wire on the side of the door?
Is the pull wire inside the main rubber hose as well?

First move get it scanned with VCDS, it will show the fault - test it in output testes for the module number in question.
99% of the time it's the door lock module - cheapest place to get one I found is here

He's £110 cheaper than the dealer and the item is new!
You will have to check the part number for a rear module off his shop!
The job at first seems difficult but it you give yourself a chance - take a few photos etc it's pretty simple really!
The trick is to remember to follow the guide above and not loose the T20 for the handle to far.

Is that part a genuine vw part?
If not are they good quality and reliable ?
-
No VW Numbers on them (but I've found the items and the supplier to ok).
