Post by: MJGib on May 22, 2014, 12:15:52 am
hi, iv just got myself a golf GTI

been told if I fit full exhaust, intercooler, induction kit & a decent custom map id be looking at 275/280 BHP?

what bhp would if run with a ko3 hybrid? or would it be cheaper to just do the ko4 conversion?

any advise would be grateful

A K04 conversion is the way to go for more power.  :happy2:

K03 hybrid has been done, it gets you around 320bhp but with a punchier delivery in the lower rev range when compared to a a k04.

It's cheaper to do the K04 upgrade though, and you get more Powwwwwer  :driver:

beach buggy do hybrid k03s for i think £750 with uprated actuator.

can't see how that's cheaper than a full k04 setup and has it's pros and cons over the k04... yes k04 runs better but k03s has slightly better spool and the hybrid k03 is a BOLT ON upgrate no faffing around with pipework.

K04.. A k03 hybrid has no pros over k04.. Lag is virtually non existent on a k04

Do you all have access to the FrankenTurbo F23T (K04 hybrid) ?
Here(US) it is about the same cost($1200usd) as a K04, but more power. This is 344 wheel horsepower(400bhp) for a F23t, DriverMotorsport tune, stock injectors, and w/m inj:

I like the LOBA's...especially the L04xx, but the L0400 is mighty fine ;p

400bhp & 450lbft torque is possible on a standard K04 turbo & WMI with the right hardware & tune anyway
