As title,
I put v10 maps on but no speed cams (do get petrol stations etc tho)
Tried the sd card way to import peronalpoi, seems my sd card reader is kaput.
So now i need a map disc with speed cams petrol stations etc already on to load onto my rns510 running firmware3810.
Help pleeeaaaase.

Does your SD card work with MP3s?
-
Tried 3 different ones. All said 'error reading sd card' after about 5seconds.
Not tried one with mp3 tbh as none of them were my sd cards lol
-
Sometimes they have trouble reading data, and playing an mp3 gets the RNS to recognise the card.
-
What size sd card are you using?
-
Tried 1gb, 2gb and 16gb.
None read.
Could try an mp3 on one i spose.

I think RNS only recognises MP3's on SD Cards . Converted my itunes stuff to MP3 files and hey presto :happy2:

It recognises a DB3 file as well, because I've just loaded my speed camera file onto my new RNS510.

How do I get V10 maps with petrol stations and speed cameras onto my rns510?
-
Also my nav is terrible it always thinks I'm in a field and hardly ever picks up satellites?
I can't enter a new post code either ??
The antenna is located in the top vent with the gps facing towards the sky
Any help appreciated or if someone at lakeside tomorrow could help me with it that would great

The post code issue is because your running older SW/HW iirc.
I think you could put the antenna slightly higher as I'm sure when you installed it, it was lower than what I would have it sit.

I've had it all out since last month and moved it right to the top now :happy2: just can't seem to pick up satellites.
Where do I get the new software from? Will the newest software allow for speed cameras and petrol stations ?
Thanks marvin, are you still going tomorrow?
Jake

Don't you want V10 maps? V9 are a few years old now.
-
mine thinks it's in germany half the time.... any ideas?
-
Regensburg syndrome. Could be a firmware issue, if it's been updated. Or it might cure it if you do update the firmware/maps.
Basically, Regensburg is the default GPS position of the RNS unit, so any time it loses its memory or suchlike it defaults to Germany until it finds a valid GPS signal and recalculates. Try a new GPS antenna, or reposition the one you have, see how you get on with that. Also, when you have the unit pulled out make a note of the part number and suchlike on the top, as you could need it if you do have to update the firmware at a later date.

I dont think anyone has done a v10 maps with speed cams loaded onto yet you see. So at least was gaurenteed to get full maps with all the stuff on this way.

I have V9 maps, but not sure if the speed cams are on it. They'll be a good bit out of date as well though, so maybe not accurate.
Did you try an mp3 on the SD card reader yet?

Did you manage to get maps with speed cams on yet? I might have a solution....
