Is this a fair easy and straight forward job? Unbolt the parts.....remove and insert new rubbers?
-
if you mean console bushes, then they arn't hard to do but you can't just do them on the driveway, i just did mine and replaced them for audi tt ones, i cut the old ones off after removing the whole bottom arm, then pressed the new ones on, as i didn't want to distort them by hammering ect. once you've got the old one off, make sure the hex shaped end of the bottom arm is clean of corrosion and greased up ready for the new one to go on too.
-
I bought the tt console bushes complete in the housing so no need to press them in / out.
I did mine on the drive and did need to remove the whole arm in order to get enough room to remove the bush.

Told from my service that I need to look at changing front and rear bushes......also arb dust covers.
Got some uneven tyre wear on front and slight knocking noise.
Concerned these are pressed in soooo ard you need machine to remove them?
Should I just gets complete kit like this....? Or just get some std oem ones

that kit is just bushes I think bud, so you'll still need the ally housing to mount them in, so yes you'll need a press. pm maxitrol, he has that kit, and he pressed the old ones out and new ones in.
-
Housing? I thought they just sat in the arm?
-
the console bushes are in a aluminium housing that's pressed onto the rear of the bottom arm. you can buy complete ones like I did with the audi tt ones, then just cut the old housing and bush off, then press your new one on, or you'll have to remove the housing and bush of the bottom arm, then press the old bush out them replace with the likes of the kit you showed a link too.

Oooo sounds little out my comfort zone :sad1: think I need book this in the garage

up to you mate, either way you'll need to get the tracking aligned afterwards anyway, so a trip to a garage will be needed.

my bushes were just standard so when replaced for the tt ones and a re-alignment there was a huge difference mate.
