Hi before I start modding my GTI I want to get a load of maintenance bits and bobs done first. Looking at changing/upgrading the coil pack. What is the general thinking on this is it worth it or are standard ones fit for purpose ?
-
If it ain't broke don't fix it ........
-
Standard ones should be fine though some do "upgrade" to the red R8 ones...
-
For £70 odd, just get the 4 R8 ones :innocent:

Part number for the R8 ones please......

Audi R8 Coilpacks Part number 06E 905 115E :happy2:

I've just put some R8 ones into mine. Apparently have slightly more resistance and cheaper than the standard GTI one......after they failed last night!

yes over 200 in stock here
Wouldnt say they are an upgrade, other than the colour :)

They have a higher resistance in the coil over stock ones. Supposedly gives a stronger spark on the sparkplug. :happy2:

Compared to a 1.8T one yes, but not other 2.0T coils

They have more res. than OEM 2.0t packs too.

I had a brand new set from VW under recall. It's rude to pass up any freebies!

I'm having mine done for free by vw on Monday. But I might change them for the r8 ones. Then Remap this bad boy :happy2:

Can't go wrong with a fresh set of standard ones, mine were recently done for free at VW under recall
