Title: Rear window rubber seal. Should I have them?
Post by: Pete-r on May 26, 2014, 07:44:47 pm
I've only just noticed this, but parking next to another mk5 today I realised my car doesn't have any rubber seals around the rear quarter windows.

I rang my supplying dealer who said 'if they aren't on there it shouldn't have them' which sounded a bit bogus, can anyone confirm? My car is an 08 reg.

Apparently they stopped putting them on around 2007. Mine has the seals and is an '07.

Well my car does have tints which I think are factory but I'm not 100% so was starting to think I hope they haven't been removed for some work and not put back on.

Mine's a 2008 & doesn't have them.
Not sure why VW made a change, but looks more balanced when the extra rubber is there - it sort of matches up to the door better.
