Title: White tyre writing…
Post by: Twiggy on June 02, 2014, 10:23:52 am
Whats people thoughts on white tyre writing?

for people that enjoy scatter cushions?
For yank tanks only?
race cars only?

would i be hunted down and killed if i did it?

I think it depends on the tyre wall and the car. Some tyre walls look good with white writing. Most look crap. It'll look crap if the car looks crap, and it'll look crap if it's not kept in good condition. It'd look good on hot rods, and super cars. Not so sure about hatchbacks!

Personally, I've toyed with the idea of doing it.

Totally agree, i would just be doing it for a giggle for this summers goodwood FOS.

My tyres are Bridgestone Potenza RE070, side wall is pretty good.

I've been thinking about doing it for ages, growing up round trucks all the modded ones seem to do it but not sure if it would suit the golf. I see a vxr corse in blue the other week and they had the outline of the brand in white and the inside of the letters blue which looked quite good

I just want to do it because well why not. Might look sh*t but be a laugh!

You can buy the paint pens on amazon or ebay. You normally just colour in the tyre brand.

A Twisted Defender is probably the only time I'd be happy for writing on my tyres :-)

I have the right tyres for it: Pirelli P Zero,

But on a BMW 330 coup? It'd look pretty w*nk.

I think the consensus, rightly, is that if it's an off roader or a track car, you can get away with it

On a daily car, for me - it'd just look silly  :rolleye: :booty:
