Hi Guys, my name is Adrian, (Ade to all and sundry),
I have recently bought a 2005 Golf 2.0 GT TDi. :driver:
Its a lovely car and I am enjoying it very much, I have a few issues that need fixing etc but the main problem I have is the CD multi changer has no power.
I believe it has been disconnected as there also appears to be a cd stuck inside.
What I need help with is I presume that the fuse has been removed, where is this fuse, what number location and what size fuse should I use.
I would really appreciate your help.
Cheers in advance
Adrian

It's powered off the head unit so if the main stereo is working, look elsewhere for the problem. Either not connected in the back of the head unit, or not connected into the cd changer.
-
Lovely, thanks.
Any special tools/device required to get the CD / main head unit out?
-
CD changer is standard removal tools. Head unit is trim removal tools and torx bits. :happy2:

Hi
If there's a fault with the actual unit I have a working one for sale!

Ok, thanks again,
thanks Jonny, What you looking at £?

I've got an iPod dock if you would rather change it for that
-
There is an ipod dock lead in the glove box.
Maybe the CD multiplayer malfunctioned and instead of fixing it the previous owner
put in the ipod lead.
Can the ipod lead and the multidisc work at the same time?
An ipod dock does sound good but only if you have an ipod.

Hi guys,
Sorry to bump this but i was wondering if the ipod cable abd the cd multi player can work at the same time.

Just pull the head unit and have a look. You'll possibly have an aftermarket ipod lead anyway which could connect in a number of ways. If the ipod has been connected in place of the cd changer then there's the answer as to why the cd changer isn't working. Takes 5 minutes to pull the head unit.

Hi mate
My car had the iPod cable and the in-armrest CD changer. The CD changer was disconnected as I am pretty sure the iPod connection mimics the CD changer - you can only have one or the other.
Don't want much for the unit (maybe 20 quid and postage?)
