hi guys
I just had my air con regassed as it wasn't as cold as I thought it should be, it all went fine but it still isn't cold, the garage plugged the scanner in and they said the compressor is kicking in but the little fan is not but it isn't showing a code, hopefully someone can help me before I have to send it to be and pay the ridiculous prices :(
many thanks
luke

Could be the pressure switch/pressure sensor (same part, different name depending on who you talk to).
Aircon pressure switch - 1K0 959 126 E £59.80
Seal 8E0 260 749 C - £0.77

yeah someone else said that I might try it!! is there anyway of testing it as earlier both fans were going but it wasn't getting freezing, but then I turned the car off and then after that they would come back on :stupid:

See my thread for pressure sensor error, did you get it scanned with VCDS or generic scanner? My generic scan didnt pick it up initially but the VCDS did. I'm picking the sensor up today, fingers crossed it fixes it.

There is a TPI out for this, its the G65 pressure sensor as mentioned that seems to be blamed. The DTC in VCDS will be one of the following:
• 00819 High Pressure Sensor -G65- Disruption/Short Circuit to Ground
• 00229 Refrigerant Pressure - Under Lower Limit
-
new pressure switch has fixed the g65 error but I cant work out how to unscrew the bloody thing to replace it. Any ideas how to unscrew the sensor without taking everything apart?

It's a pain in the arse, without a crow foot spanner it's a garage job

ahh this is a massive help for me guys, my mate with vcds is on holiday so I'm going to have to wait until he is back to plug in, it was plugged in with generic scanner, which I find a waste of time!! I recon I'm going to just order this sensor and see how it goes, many thanks guys

I Got this expanded diagram, dont know if it will be helpful or not. The sensor is number 18
