Title: Aftermarket Camshafts
Post by: SurreyED30 on June 05, 2014, 04:12:50 pm
Afternoon all

just wondering whether some of you stage 2 upwards tuned guys are running uprated camshafts?

I know cams play a huge part in NA engines when it comes to tuning  ( i cammed by 106 and saxo  :P ) so im just seeing if people have aftermarket cams and what did you get from it?

regards,

Jake

They're used on PD engines with good results.

No need really. You can get 500bhp on standard cams.

As Rich said, there isn't much benefit unless your going SILLY power.

Ryan @ garage midnight tried uprated cams but didn't really benefit from them.

The TFSI has variable valve timing which can be optimised to get the best turbo spool and low down torque. Niki @ R-Tech has played around with this recently and got some decent gains from it

Thanks for the info, won't bother reading into possible cams in the future then.

Thanks all for your input here  :happy2:

Don't know, he's not on the forum much (read as: ever). See him at all the shows, with a different colour car
