Title: Air Con not working and was Quoted £1100 to fix

After servicing my car the main dealer in twickenham said :

for the aircon the  dryer and compressor are not working  it will cost £1100 to fix this ? which i refused.  i dont have warranty on my car.

does anyone have a another solution to sort this air con problem out?. or could you recommend somebody.

(the major service was £299 including labour )

Common problem unfortunately but that is a mental price! You should be able to get it done for half that (or less) at a good independant specialist. Not sure where you are based but I've seen recommendations for APS in Brackley and Bedford Battery

I just posted a similar-ish thread too mate, haven't had it checked yet but I did hear hissing in the engine bay near alternator/cambelt after I re-gassed it my self and could hear the gas escaping somewhere, gonnna call Warranty Direct next week as im with them and get them to get it inspected to see whats at fault , sad thing is most drivers only realise its not working when its a hottt hot day like my self, only had the car 5 months too   :sad1:
