Do the PCV check, Have a read through this and give it a go in the morning. If it needs replacing there about £34 and will give you piece of mind mate. Plus car will run better

Have you changed all the advised maintenance bits ?

Good too meet you today, how did you get on mate with the PCV check
-
Mine sounds rough but it's not hunting at all. Must be the stupid drainpipe exhaust I made for it!

Same symptoms as my 57 GTI. PCV changed by Alex (AKS tuning) and all resolved.

Fuel injectors and carbon build up is where I would hedge my bets .
-
What's the price on injectors these days for the eddy?
-
About £100 each I think, but a lot of the problem is just carbon build up on them that can be cleaned.
This problem is getting more common if you notice these cars get more miles on them :happy2:

This is very true.
Try a can of BG44K in the fuel tank, that will help to clean the carbon off the injectors.
The TFSI's are dirty engines and as a result make a lot of carbon - you can see the amount of black smoke they throw out when tuned (tuned K04 setups are the worst for this)
They seem to like a good thrashing to keep them clean so don't be afraid to give it a good spanking now and again
Dirty inlet valves are inevitable as these engines get more miles in them. This will affect the idle and the starting

Where can I buy this mate or is it a interweb jobbie?
