Making this thread is really going to knock my pride somewhat lol
i cant figure out how to take my wheels off to a certain extent
I have these black covers/bolts, with a star shaped hole i tried all my star head/spline bits and none fit, so firstly do i need a vw key to remove them, and secondly is the actual wheel bolt behind these covers? I have a locking key in my boot that i assume will fit my bolts but i cant locate anything which will remove these covers
cheers in advance
sam

Take it to a tyre shop and see how they do it
-
You need to pull that cap off to reveal the actual wheel bolt.
-
thats what i thought, but how dose it come out? is it just pushed in? or screwed in? ive noticed most of them look pretty chewed up
-
Just use a hook and they pull out.

Or Paper clip :signLOL:

cheers guys i thought because of the star shape it was screwed in assuming i can lever it out with a screw driver i probably wont put them back in

The tool Rich has shown you above should be in the Styrofoam in the spare wheel well along with your wheel lock key.

cheers ill take a closer look, i do seem to be missing a few bits
-
A slot screw driver should do the job mate
-
Careful not to scratch your wheels if you end up using a screwdriver. It's not difficult to slip whilst doing that :ashamed:
-
Use an Alen key and plyers if you can't find the tool

I always wondered what that was for, thought it was for scratching me arse
I've always just used a screwdriver to get the wheelnut covers off!
