Hi all,
I have a bit of an unusual request from someone in the Northamptonshire area.
My girlfriends gti is suffering from a strangle 'wobble' when driving.... It's not wheel bearings and I'd ideally like to try a new set of wheels/tyres to pinpoint the issue.
Obviously I dont want to be buying some 18" tyres only to find the wheels are the issue, or buying new alloys to find out it's the tyres.... OR neither at fault.
So I'm asking if anyone in the area would let me 'swap' their wheels onto hers so I can identify/pinpoint the issue...
I'll leave something like my car there with you to assure you that I wont just drive off with them :happy2: and will pay you some beer tokens for your time.
Anyone able to help?
TIA

Maybe try your own spare wheel on each corner one after another? Not ideal but would rule out a buckled wheel/ shot tyre.

Was hoping not to have to do it that way :happy2: but thanks for the suggestion, it's certainly a possibility. We dont have the car right now as we lent it to my uncle who is over for my grans funeral.
If no offers by the time we get it back then we'll need to tray as you say.
Thanks

Sorry to hear about your Gran, and hope it's nothing expensive in the end. :drinking:

Ok, I get the car back in a week, so one last plea! :happy2:
