Title: MFD2
Post by: safc88 on June 10, 2014, 06:02:28 pm
Hi all

I've not long had the car and it has got the mfd2 sat nav unit in. My first impressions were that it didn't seem up to much and having given it some time I've decided that it is pretty rubbish!!

How do I go about getting updates for it?  Are there any updates that allow it to search using a postcode?

I'm considering getting rid of it and replacing it with an aftermarket into that also has Bluetooth built in for streaming music etc, can anyone recommend any decent ones?

Thanks

Its quite a dated unit now but still worth a bit on eBay if you want to sell it on and upgrade. You could upgrade to a newer VW unit with postcode support etc but apart from the RNS 315 (which won't support the instrument cluster display in a MK5) none of them have Bluetooth streaming.

Are the newer units easy enough to swap over?

How much would I be looking at roughly for one?
