I reckon Germany or Spain.
Whoever wins, I reckon it's gonna be an amazing spectacle, and I can't wait till 9pm! :drinking:
-
England of course.
-
Which ever country paid the biggest back hander.
-
Brazil
-
Brazil v Spain final. Whichever one wins that! :happy2:
-
Brazil argentine final brazil winning it.
-
I think Belgium will put up a good show. They have a surprisingly good squad.
-
I have backed Argentina.
-
I will go the obvious route and say brazil or Argentina. History says that the conditions suit nations from that neck of the woods
-
Man City
-
I just don't think Brazil have an as strong a team as prior. Probably saying Argentina or Germany.
-
Argentina, Germany dark horses.
-
Argentina vs Belgium final  England won't cope with the heat, plus there sh*t and never win anything :signLOL:

England don't have the right attitude to win. Rooney was on tv last night spouting sh*te about the world cup, and was asked what advice he had for the younger members who'd never been to a world cup before. His answer: -
"Just enjoy it."
Now I'm not sure that the reason he's in South America representing the country is to enjoy himself. A proper answer would be along the lines of
"You're here to do a job, and the only advice I can give is to do that job to the best of your ability and more. Nothing else is important for the few weeks we're down here, so forget everything about what's going on at home, what people think, what promotional deals you're working on for lining your pockets in the coming year. The job in hand is playing football for your country, and that is all that needs to be in your head.
Germany for me, but Brazil will probably cheat their way into the final by falling over in the area to get a penalty. They already started that last night.
-
Last nights ref was on the pay role :P

Last nights ref was on the pay role :P
Indeed, dodgy penalty award and some nice elbow action by Neymar.
They are spray painting the pitch in Manaus so it looks green :signLOL:.
Argentina/Spain or Germany. The other question is which teams fans will start launching the deck chairs first?

Spain, Germany or Netherlands, after watching last night Brazil don't look that good.......................Argentina have good players but too many Ego's...........................will come down to best "Team Play", so Germany, Netherlands or Spain for me (Hopefully not Spain or Germany tho!) :signLOL:
-
I'd be surprised if a European side win, but if they did I'd say Spain. my money is on Argentina tho

I've always loved Netherlands so I went mental when they scored 3rd and 4th goals lol
5-1 is a good result!!!!
-
we have a game on in work where each department gets 4 random teams, if any of those 4 teams win the World Cup the department gets a free lunch at TGI's... we have Spain, Croatia, France and Australia... not looking good so far lol!!!
-
Holland got me £25 last night from two quid, very well done.
-
I'm hoping Germany win......only due to me pulling it out of the hat in the sweepstake!
-

Man City
A little optimistic :signLOL:

I got Ivory Coast. That's £5 I won't see again. . . :sad1:
-
COME ON ENGLAND!
-
Woo! Italy!
-
Well after that performance... Not England, :scared:
-
How much does rooney get paid, and he can't kick a ball between two posts?
-
How ridiculous was his corner around the 85 minute mark?! :congrats:
-
I think that hair of his has gone to his head.
-
Paul Scholes is spot on about Rooney.....He's way past his sell by date.
-
If England win I will buy everyone on the forum a MK7 Golf R*

I always get the impression he can't hack the pressure of World Cup matches. He always seems to fluff it. . . :sad1:

-
Drawn Japan in a sweepstake.
Can't envisage wining that pot
-
I got Iran and Greece in my sweepstakes :sad1:
-
Germany looking very efficient at making Portugal look silly. Played them at their own game (fall over as soon as anyone gets close to you) and once they'd got rid of one of their players, just went back to being efficient again.
-
I pot £5 on chile at the beginning :star:
-
England booking a plane flight for themselves at the moment. No ball skills apparent by most of our lot, and rooney again not able to hit the target.
-
So that's us out, and in other news, bears sh*t in the woods.

Does that mean no more stupid subway ads with Sturrridge?

Never scores in World Cup games. . . Unless 2 good players hand it to him on a plate. I don't rate him in the World Cup at all. And he's the one that scored for us :chicken:

he still does more than Stevie G ... oh and we may as well have just had Cahill on his own at the back too!
-
^true. Captain is getting some stick on Facebook right now
-
Come on ITALY.
Although I think Germany could win the Cup.

Cahill was immense
Jagielka was at fault for BOTH F**KIN GOALS
I said to my mate before the WC, we should have begged John Terry to come out of retirement. Aye hes not very quick but he is great at reading the game
-
I decided at half time that i was going to shave my nut sack with a rusty razor instead of watching the 2nd half... Glad i did! :jumping:

It's funny how the exact same set of players in both games can play so differently but get the same end result :stupid:
Was optimistic after the performance against Italy we looked quick sharp and up for it, admittedly defensively was shaky and never sorted out stopping Italy on the wing getting in behind for fun
Tonight never really got started and looked nervous and rushed on the ball, then typically we have a good spell with loads of pressure nearly score a couple of times and they hit a long ball and score
-
Hopefully Netherlands will win.
Will be happy as long as Brazil/Argentina/Uruguay or Germany DON'T win
-
All this clamour to have terry, cole et al back in the side is a joke. Costa rica have just proven over two games that with decent work rate and an organised set up a team can go out and beat higher ranked sides. Why do england never do that. We never pull off surprises and our players are truly over paid, lazy and over hyped by themselves, the press and their clubs
They should all fall on their swords including the manager
Apart from that it looks like the sun will shine this weekend
-
our players are truly over paid, lazy and over hyped by themselves, the press and their clubs
Couldn't agree more, should of put some lower premiership and championship players on the field
-
You can debate England all day long, but to a certain extent it just comes down to not taking your chances.
Rooney finishes against Italy - 2-2
Rooney finishes either the header or the point blank save against Uruguay and we either win or draw that game.
I do think Gerrard should hang his boots up for England and need to usher in a new era
-
Don't fully agree with that because lowly costa rica took their chances as well as kept goals out and they are not supposed superstar premier players
-
This WC is pretty simple to decipher.
Andy (berg) has hit on it already in some ways, our 'best' player didn't finish a host of chances (Tooney) he had and should've had more than one goal all tournament, possibly three or four were slightly guilt edged.
Defensively, particularly for the Balotelli goal and the second Suarez goal, we were naive and gave both players too much space.
I'd have still included John Terry in the squad if I was Woy Hodgson as him and Cahill were the two best centre backs in the Premiership last season IMO, and Terry offers England leadership that I don't think comes from anywhere else in that current squad. I simply don't think Stevey G being captain offered what it should've, perhaps a weight on his mind that lead to his poor performances in both games after a great Prem season.
We played alright in the two games so far if we were competently honest, we've probably played with less confidence in previous WC's and still made it out of the group, ironically
...but, one things for sure - Costa Rica and the other South Am sides particularly have played far better football this tournament and no-one can deny that. We've been nowhere near as positive in wave after wave of attack or have we played with half the passion they have, so we can have no complaints.
Italy might go through but they didn't look much better than us. Now Uruquay have Suarez back, that might get them to the quarters/semi's if they're lucky.
Anyone who said we'd be lucky to make it out of the group was right because we had to step it up a couple of notches to progress in 1st or 2nd place, and we didn't - therefore we've already booked our flight home
-
Pete
I think you have hit the nail in your comment that our players have failed to step it up a couple of notches as usual. Too many of them drift through games for England which is plainly obvious when you see other lower sides fighting for every ball for 90 mins
Missing a few chances is bit of a smokescreen as every side misses them we just do not create enough because of above
It is hugely frustrating watching England these days, thank god my team city are winning stuff these days. It lessens the pain of watching England
-
I think there is more to it than the missing of chances, just trying to emphasise in a world cup you dont get many so have to put them away.
for example, if that was the premiership and liverpool were england and Italy and Uruguay City and United, you would say "rubbish have just lost two massive games aginst big rivals but hey ho, the next six games look all winnable" but in the WC lose two and you are out.
I would have played Terry and Cole instead of Jagielka and Baines and Rooney always down the middle. As usual though a lot of the lesser teams look more more technically gifted then us - Chile, Colombia etc.
On another note good to see Iran almost beatring Argentina and Ghans nearly beating the Germans.
Only France and Holland of the European teams have played really well so far in both games
-
Germany vs Brazil in finals, and Germany will win.
-
Daffy Duck has been biting again
-
He needs a season ban IMO. Dirty git.
On a brighter note, England managed a point.

France to win it!!!
-
I think some of the "underdogs" have performed brilliantly. So many of the games have been right down to the wire, and required extra time or penalties. On a different day, Chile, Nigeria, Algeria, Switzerland, USA could have all gone through and deservedly so.
In a way I'm glad that England didn't get through the group. They can blame other results not going their way. If they'd have played any of the above in the knock out stages we would have been thoroughly embarrassed. I wish England had played with half as much desire as the USA did last night.
-
^^^^ Spot on.
The Belgium v USA game was the best game of football I've seen in ages. The passion and determination the US of A showed was immense and puts out over paid twats to shame.
-
you two are both spot on. our players ought to feel ashamed of themselves though I doubt it. I hope our press start to see them for what they are
-
So now France have gone out, Germany move into the semis.

Can't stop laughing. I wanted Brazil to win, teach me to bet on football. :signLOL:

-
wow... genuinely have nothing to say.
-
Football never ceases to surprise me. :rolleye:
The only good news is that I've got Germany in the sweep at work. :drinking:
-
Now let's hope the Argie Bast*rds lose and all will be well in the world.
-
Wish I'd have put more than £5 on Germany to the cup now.
Crazy result. :congrats:

Old wounds never heal...that's why the English are hated worldwide too.
I've always loved everything German.
....but I would say that being 1/2 German, 50% Italian, 1/2 Dutch, 0.5 Austrian, 1/16 English and 100% Retard
-
^^^^ :signLOL:
-
Looks like I won the sweep at work then. Thanks Germany. :drinking:
I was actually supporting the Argies though. Glad a good goal won it and it didn't have to go to the lottery of penalties.
-
Same here. Sweep nets me a couple of wins. :happy2:
-
german engineering :signLOL:
-
They deserved it overall. There wasn't a team that stood head and shoulders above the rest, but Germany were the best of a average-ish bunch.
-

Hmm, I think the Germans were fairly spectacular tbh. Netherlands really should have gotten to the final, and given the rivalry between the two countries it probably would have made for a more entertaining match.
There were a lot of teams that punched well above their weight though as I mentioned above. I think it'll be good for the future of football that in future the World Cup will be more closely contested.

Are there still hard feelings against the germans? We won. If anything, its them who should be pissed off with us.
